I visited a local greenhouse and was very envious of their tomato crop. Each plant is trained up strings suspended from what looks like a super clothesline system. They are growing in a soil-less medium with nutrients and water flowing through gravel in raised beds. At the base of the tomatoes are a crop of strawberries. Quite an operation and the vines were loaded with tomatoes. Probably not unusual in the growers world, but I was impressed!
