Bayer Rose and flower is basically the same thing as Bayer tree and shrub at half the price. You want to be careful about spraying the peduncles though.

An excellent product is Bayer Advanced 3 in 1. It's a fungicide, insecticide and miticide. That should do the trick and cure all. You can use as a foliar spray and soil drench. This product does not contain a fertilizer so you would need to add that separately. Also, you should quarantine that plant from your others until you know for sure it's healthy.

Full disclosure - my husband works for Bayer and I used too as well (I've used all the products plus the professional line on all kinds of plants with no issues except neem oil! A lot of people like it because it's not a chemical but all my plants I've ever used it on have died. Yes, even the Bayer Natria line. I told my husband Bayer owes me two Hoyas! lol). They do say to test their products in a small area first. Yeah right, like people read the fine print....:-)

No Bayer Rose and flower does not contain a miticide. Only the 3 in 1 product does.

Wowee! Now that's a trailing plant!! Most systemics do not contain something to kill spider mites- they kill everything else BUT spider mites. It doesn't look like it has spider mites though, otherwise it would probably be dead by now. Try a flashlight and magnifying glass to see if there's any creepy crawlies.

Yeah, I haven't noticed anything alive on it. Thinking it was just some basement spiders that died off during winter and left their webs behind... At least I hope. But yeah I am in love with this plant! Hoping it gives me lots of beautiful flowers in the future!

Great information Monica. Which Bayer product do you use? And how do you mix / apply it (ratio for mix or spray or drench?). I keep mine outdoors so I generally don't have mites but I have seen scale on some. Also, do you know if there is a product I can use on plumeria to control rust?

wanna_run_faster - I use all different Bayer products. The Advanced line that is their consumer brand and some professional stuff my husband gets.

If I recently watered my plants and notice something on the leaves I will do a foliar spray or use the granular products and gently mix it into the top inch of two of soil. I'm bad as I don't measure things out I just eyeball it. Now if I use something on an edible like my citrus trees I have my husband mix something up for me.

Monica I just bought 3 of the Bayer products 2 of which you have there. I saw that it's not recommended to use the Rose and Flower on houseplants. I have mealies on a few of my Hoya compactas. Would you recommend? I was thinking of using a few granules in my pots.

I had a BAD mealy big problem on about 8 of my orchids and I used Bayer Rose and Flower Insect Killer, which is systematic, and it got rid of the problem after 3 once weekly treatments. It keeps them away too! I definitely recommend it for mealies.

I know that every one wants the quick easy answer but you really should READ THE LABEL! (It is the law) It will tell you almost everything you need to know...and how to use it. After all it is poison and you really want to take care of YOU as well as your plants. there, my 2 cents worth.

I agree, you should read the label! Also, I think it's important that we first diagnose the problem correctly, learn about the pesticide and use it as little as possible, only when it's absolutely necessary, especially if your plant is going to be outside and flowering. Some insecticides affect non-target insects (e.g. pollinators). I know this is probably not a fun topic to think about, but I think we should be conscientious so that our hobby has as little negative impact as possible on the ecosystem and the environment.
