Ken, Are those cailfornia poppies? Have the rest except for balsam and allysum. Thank you.

Petunias will actually reseed for me every year, mainly in driveway cracks. So will celosia, Papaver somniferum 'Lauren's Grape' and Helenium amarum 'Dakota Gold'. Every so often Zinnia will as well.

Meconopsis cambrica, Welsh Poppy, is a handy reseeder for damp shade.

Verbena boniarensis, annual rudbeckia (black-eyed-Susan's). For me, Rose Campion is a biennial or short-lived perennial, but it sure does reseed.

Nicotiana, bread seed/opium poppy (Papaver somniferum), Portulaca, Foxglove is a reseeding biennial in addition to the others listed here.

What kind of poppy is that one....love it.

They're cultivars of Papaver rhoeas aka Shirley Poppies. This is what they look like in their natural habitat.

i brought home a couple seed pods from a local friend .... reds... whites.. and every derivation therein ....

not what i would call cultivars .... meaning.. bred to a certain color, or some such ...

or of course.. they were at one time.. a couple generations back ... and this is just the genetic degeneration ...

Add catchfly (Silene armeria) to the mix - mine come in pinks and purples; blue flax - a true blue not usually seen; also oxeye daisies - which grow wild around here. All three very pretty flowers, though they should be cut down to an inch or so after blooming as they start looking ratty after that. And if cut back, they will bloom again later in the season.

I should add that the blue flax may not reseed next year without your gathering and re-sowing. Mine have seeded themselves immediately after dropping mature seed, but those volunteers get taken out by the frost. I haven't had it come up on it's own in the spring from seed dropped.

I love cosmos, very dependable reseeders. Also California poppies. I have a flower bed I never have to touch. . . pink and white cosmos, pink and white Cal poppies and pansies (until it gets too hot and not sure if they are from seed or plant). It's one of my favorite spots. . . it's pretty and zero maintenance.

Larkspur, shirley, peony and california poppies, nicotiana, portulaca, alyssum, cosmos all reseed very well for me. I haven't planted larkspur or nicotiana in years, yet I get seedlings up every year.
