I think something with some variation of color (not a flat white) and a crackle finish might work. Here a recent thread of something similar to what I mean, though not in white.

And that line has a color called 'Antique White':

The look you posted seems to have slightly uneven edges, which adds to the hand made / vintage look.

Well, you're looking for a "high variation" tile, that is, a tile whose glaze does not result in uniform color after firing; or you could recreate the variation by mixing closely related tiles (chosen by you or the tile designer). I just did that, mixing three colors in a 60/20/20 blend at a local handmade tile maker. There's way more tile artisans working in handmade tile than Heath and Fireclay.

This also looks to me like a Satin type glaze, not matte or gloss.

As for other large handmade tile producers, Pratt and Larson has some lines of high variation tile and a satin option, as does Winchester Tile although their tiles are gloss. Sonoma Tile also has some high variation tiles. Those are just some names for you. Hope they help.

Edit: In terms of getting a similar look, I'm wondering if these tiles are 3 x 8? Tried looking at the counter tiles, lol, and could be way off. Also, obviously, they used a darker grout. Lastly, a crackle tile glaze deliberately recreates the look of aged tile.

I love Winchester, but I think Papyrus is actually a low variation tile, although totally agree with Wendy and pippiep about how "old" the Winchester tiles appear in form. I think their Artisan line might have more variation, but I don't recall. They have several lines.
