The exposed roof rafters are 4x6's at 4 feet on center. The home doesn't really have crown molding per se. Although, it does have 4x6 trim aound the top of the fireplace to match the rafters. It also has an 8 inch deep cove lighting shelf above the windows, and 6 inch deep operable clerestory vents between the rafters above the windows. These are both classic details of this style of home. All other walls are drywall to the ceiling with no wood trim which provides a clean minimal look that we prefer for this design.

What is the width of the T&G ceiling in the picture please? We have a small slanted ceiling in our cabin kitchen and are installing T&G painted white boards, and cannot decide between the 6" or 8" wide boards (which are really 5 1/4 or 7 1/4). Wondering what these are and if you have an suggestions for our cabin ceiling? The kitchen is only 10 feet wide, and the ceiling slopes from 7 ft to 8.6 feet onthe other side!
