It is doing well in North Florida - coastal. My favorite, at this moment.

Geranium Pelargonium hortorum Brocade 'Vancouver Centennial'

From the discount rack at Lowe's, where I usually pick up my geraniums.

Not blooming, they mark them down.

Just so you know - this plant hasn't been 'discontinued" :-)) It is still widely propagated and sold as an annual bedding plant (but a quite hardy one, often able to winter over in mild areas). And for some reason, Brocade is the group name that has been recently assigned to what used to be called "fancy leaf" geraniums - zonal pellies with variegated and/or pointed/lobed leaves that were grown primarily for foliage display; less for their flowers.

Believe there are two and they are pretty big plants. I think I got maybe 5 tiny things. One died. Have 2 more in more direct hot Florida sun. They are fine but smaller.

They go down in the hot Florida summer but thrive in the Spring and Fall.

When I get lucky and get 3-6 geraniums at one time at the discount rack I plant them around the yard, to test the spot it likes best. This plant just seems to really like this spot. Seems to get the right amount of light and attention since everyone comments on it. Maybe, it's the love it gets. :-)

But I know the real secret: I did not get a big freeze this year.

Can't live without this plant so I will have to propagate and protect. Can't get it at the store anymore.

Although I just saw another brocade, like this, but with larger flowers just won the 2016 AAS Award National Award. (See link below). So they might bring them back in that form.

Seems easy to propagate, based on my experience with a small tip that broke off. It took off pretty fast after I put it in the ground.

I just realised it's Vancouver Centennial. I used to have this one but the flowers look different on yours. VC is a stellar type with orange/red flowers

I checked the label that came with this plant. It simply says Monrovia Brocade Geranium.

Wish Monrovia would have listed the name. So Vancouver Centennial is a best guess. As you can see with "Fire", they are improving the bloom on this geranium. Don't know if I have something between Vancouver Centennial and Fire.

I do get blooms like you showed however.

Love the maroon leaves on your last photo.
