I also went down the RH review rabbit hole, and now I'm afraid to order ANYTHING from them. People make it sound like you might as well be setting your money on fire.
Aida O, how long have you owned your St. James set?

@T B about 5 - 6 years. I m purchasing a new St James Collection but different color this time due to divorce. The first was antiqued oak, this one will be antiqued coffee. I've searched everywhere for what I like and I always end up at RH, although I will say that Arhaus has very nice pieces as well but couldn't find the bedroom set I loved. I just found their website thanks to this post.

We have the St James Antique Grey Oak Bathroom vanity and the quality is garbage. It is chipped all over in a little over a year. I'm so disappointed b/c I could've gotten something much cheaper that likely would've lasted longer. Their stuff is beautiful, but seriously, just don't. I contacted them and they sent me a stain pen......which was a garbage solution. I did try it, but to be honest, it wasn't even the exact correct color and wasn't dark enough to cover the issues. Also, as I was using the pen, more of the finish was flaking off. Like some of the finish will flake off if you wipe the vanity with a wet rag.

@Aida O Is the St. James bed made of oak? The online description only says hardwood

Wow i am surprised about the neg reviews of RH. we also have had 2 st James sets due to moving and selling with house. never a problem. The first was purchased probably 20 years ago and used for a good 17 yrs, the 2nd, we bought 2 years ago. The amenities of the nightstand are not there (no built in plugs or lined top drawer ) compared to others, but we knew that before buying. My husband loves the set as do I but now how do I decorate around is in 2022!

I am super surprised as well. We have had the bedroom set since 2014 and it is solid, no chipping or any other damage. I have no idea what kind of wood it is, but it is super heavy. You can tell it is high quality.

Glad i am seeing this as we are getting ready to pull the trigger as well. how is the quality of drawers opening and shutting on the dresser? do they open smoothly? is it wood on wood?

I have had the St James collection bedroom set in coffee for close to 10 yrs. I love it as much as the day i picked it out. The drawers all work great, the quality is beyond what you see in most stores.

We’ve had the St James 11 drawer dresser for 14 years. My husband absolutely loves it… one reason, because it’s so high, the perfect stand-up writing surface for first thing in the morning preparations. Also, those three skinny drawers along the top organize many things. We love everything about it! We are now, after 14 years, getting the Queen bed & night stands. It’s such a classic look
