Wow! That's a lot of seating! Do you need all that? It would be a shame to have chairs or a sofa blocking those windows....

imo, I prefer chairs

I need all the seating because we are a family of seven and alwas seem to have friends or relatives over.

I personally have found that men in particular do not like to sit on couches next to each other. They prefer their own space. So unless you are setting this up as a media room with all chairs I would make several separate seating areas. Maybe using loveseats instead of couches paired with chairs. This would allow a little more flexibility in grouping if you wanted to pull them together.
