Very nice! My Bogota is just starting to open. I only get 3 flowers this year to try crossing. Have you tried papilio pollen on your Bogota? I tried last time and it didn't take. It seems to like tet pollen better. I have no clue what to try this time.

If you don't have any San Remo pollen like Hippizep used, you might try Sweet Lilian. I have a few seedlings from 2013 still growing from that cross.

I have PLENTY of Sweet Lilian pollen so if there was time and you wanted to try one flower I could get some pollen out to you in the mail this afternoon.

I also have a few seedlings from way way back of Clown (which I now think was actually Sidney) x Bogota. Still waiting to see those bloom.

I'm sure that I've tried papilio and it didn't work for me either but you never know.

Thanks Donna I didn't think of sweet Lilian. So far I haven't been successful crossing her in either direction. But.. I haven't tried her with Bogota. I have frozen pollen from last season I could try and see what happens. Last time I did a Bogota X self .....just because it's one of my favorites and I wanted a back up just in case something happen to it. I also did X red pearl and X no ID red and white, which might be stargazer or mambo, one of those Minerva looking types. So that gives me a lot of reds. This time I want to try different colors. What do you think about crossing with a yellow?

You could try anything you'd like but I would think that the saturated brick red color might drown out the yellow. But then again years ago I did Lemon Star X Fairy Tale and most the seedlings that bloomed were very pale like the mother so it's worth a try.

Let us know what you choose and how it works out. Always eager to see what takes on some of these special flowers. Do you have any Apple Blossom pollen to try?

Donna yes I do have apple blossom pollen, pink flush, amalfi, Vera, neon and probably a few other pinks if I dig in the freezer. I might try Ruby star on one. The photos hippizep posted of that cross was nice. I just don't know, there are to many choices.

There you go, you've got lots of choices for your three flowers. Too many pollens, not enough flowers!!

Donna I can't count it's 4 flowers. But you are right not enough flowers. I'll let you know what I try and which ones if any make pods.
