Congrats Tawny and themockturtle! :) Been trying to get my shepherdii to flower for years. I repotted it in a smaller pot, and I do see some new growth on it. Is mine ever a thirsty plant! I think she did have peduncles before, but the buds would always blast.

My shepherdii's buds blasted all winter and mine is a thirsty one too. Fingers crossed! Hope you see some blooms this year too. :)

Tawny, yes, it's Kalimantan. I looked at a picture from two months ago again. Now I see that it came with a tiny peduncle when I got the cutting. I didn't notice then. There's no new growth besides that the peduncle got bigger. Must be the super solar power reserve from Florida...

Fingers crossed that both of you have blooms soon :). I've been wanting a new Hoya lately. Debating whether I should wait on trades, or go splurge on a new one lol. Ah, the age-old struggle of the Hoya grower/gardener. I'm also hunting for a Mock Orange for my garden, and a String of Hearts. I hope to find both soon. :)

Oh, mock oranges are one of my faves, they smell so darn good!

All of my imperialis have put out these round nubs where peduncles grow. I suspect, but cannot yet confirm, peduncles.

Fragrance is strong with this one. Buds not even fully open, and my plant room is filled with a nice, lacunosa-ish scent, with melon-like notes.

Brad - I love string of hearts too. Haven't found one yet. The lowes by me had some string of pearls.

Congrats, Marco! I have latfolia as well that I got as a cutting last fall.

Monica, I had to look up String Of Bananas, and it's a pretty plant! I have seen String Of Pearls before at my local Lowe's. Mum's kept tropical fish for years, and when I was younger, the one plant in her tank she would get from time to time were called banana plants. It looked like a bunch of green bananas and they would float towards the top. So pretty :).

Random spring flowers!

You guys sure have some interesting hoyas. Mine is just a good old-fashioned carnosa, but it came from cuttings of my late grandma's plant that she had for 35 years! My plant is 4 years old now. It made some blooms last summer, but it's blooming like crazy right now - 7 and counting. The first one just started opening this afternoon.

My H. bella still has 1 blooming peduncle, but since there are 20+ more developing, I will hold off on pictures for now in hopes they all open.

Kim, when you are looking for a Javanica for me, if you just happen to find a Bella I would love to have it.

I had a beautiful one several years ago that was always in bloom but I didn't realize that it liked to be kept constantly moist and I killed it.

Janice, I keep hunting but as of late the local shop only has regular carnosa. Hopefully more will come in, I will let you know.
