Kitchen Layout

We really want to open up the wall between the dining room and kitchen. Thought about doing a half wall and putting bar stools on other side (dining room side) but with the height of the oven, not sure how that work. Other idea is to completely knock out wall, and put large island which I guess would then house the stove/oven. This seems like it would be very expensive, and not sure we will have enough money in our budget. Would love to see example kitchens if you have any ideas of what might work for us. Thanks!!

Hi! We opened up our kitchen (took down two non load bearing walls) and put the stove/ oven in the island. We absolutely love it!! So beyond happy that we went for it! First thing is to get an engineer out to know what you are dealing with. Then find a good contractor. The best advice I can give is to put EVERY LITTLE DETAIL in your contract. Make your expectations very clear and make your contractor give you costs and timelines of everything in writing. Never just assume that you and your contractor are on the same page. Always make sure that you are!
