Help! My new plants were delivered today and the contractor delayed laying my asphalt for a week. I can't plant until the courtyard is installed since the planting are quite close to the edge and I know they would be run over.

So now I have several thousand dollars of plant material in pots and root balls waiting to go in the ground. Can they survive for two weeks like this? The alternative is to plant them somewhere else on the property and let them stay until a) the asphalt is in and move them in a week or two or b) let them sit through the summer and transplant to the final spot in the fall or next spring.

Any thoughts on what would be the least stressful for the plants? I have boxwood, Amelanchier trees (about 9 ft tall or so), Mahonia aquifolium (Oregon Grapeholly) and Morella pensylvanica (northern bayberry).

I'm in zone 6, and the plants are in shade. I'm keeping everything well watered. Thoughts very appreciated!
