Did I Goof?

Can too much Epsom Salt turn the entire leaf a greenish brown? I read about Epsom Salt and all of the great things it does for plants. I then proceeded to mix 2 TBSP to a gallon of water and started to water my plants outside probably 3 times.. Today ( 3 days later ) I noticed that my rose leafs are greenish brown and a couple of my other plants don't look as great as they should. Could this be from using too much Epsom Salt?

That doesn't sound like a lot of Epsom Salts to me, at least not for a rose. Could you have overwatered the plants? Where are you (zone & state) and how has your weather been? What were the other plants?

I agree that doesn't sound like too much in dilution however frequent repetition of the application could create toxic levels.

Did you goof? Only in that you drank the Kool Aid with regards to the myth that Epsom salts is some kind of magic gardening elixir. It is NOT - it's only documented value is if your plants/soil are experiencing a magnesium deficiency. Period.
