Eden - Second Year

Here are some photos of my second year Eden. I'm quite pleased! Thrips got at it pretty bad, and I had it wrapped up with plastic fencing to keep the deer from eating it. But, it was worth it.

Absolutely gorgeous!! I have two Eden climbing roses. Both are 1 gallon plants from Heirloom, in fact, I received the 2nd plant today. I hope that like yours, mine will have nice growth and health.

Beautiful. That's some nice growth in 2 years. I planted a gallon own root size from Heirloom last October. Is yours grafted?

Lynn, this rose really loves a lot of sun. Where it is, it gets early morning to probably middle afternoon sun. Last year, I had it in a less sunny place and it gave me about 3-4 blooms. Big difference this year! Mine is also from Heirloom - probably about knee-high when I received it. The first year it grew very tall - about the size it is now - approx. 8 ft.

Jasminerose, this one's own root and has produced three strong, new canes this spring. Really good growth and in a pot. Katalea, the pot's 22 inches in diameter. It eventually will be planted in the ground after a backyard remodel - perhaps next year.

Absolutely beautiful. Mine is just starting to open right now. Can't wait to see it in full bloom. This is such a beautiful climber.

Great to know that's what it does on its own roots. Thanks.

Beautiful! Does it repeat well for you? I used to grow one in a pot, it did very well until I got lazy planted in the garden, then I lost it to the winter. Last year I bought another one from Palatine, I will dig it up grow in a pot again, it's not cane hardy in my zone. A great job with yours! :-)

Summersrhythm, last year it didn't repeat. I'm hoping this year in it's new location that it repeats... I'll report back if it does. Also, I use a dolly to move these heavy pots around - very handy if you have one.

I seem to remember it repeated for me in a pot years ago, I had it in pot for about 5-6 years along with other DAs. It was about 6' tall........I just dug up my Eden today, it's in a pot now, hope it grows fast. :-) Hope yours repeats for you this year! :-)
