It does look very good. Lucky that it's stayed so small for that many years. I have one around that age about as small but only because it's been sick all that time and refuses to die. Another about half that age is a bit smaller due to being too dry most of the time.

Your are in the the top 1%. I had one for 2 years. One winter it either went too dry or it was that the month was cloudy and being indoors..just too dark.

Have to admit that is a great specimen... keep it up!

Very nice! Is that a dwarf variety? I've seen some that grow to only 4-5 ft upon maturity and they even bare fruit at that height.

I think so, eventually. It's outgrowing the pot.

Is that a tall variety, or a dwarf coconut you've got there, morkhandesign? It is a very handsome and healthy looking one for sure. What's your planting zone there? It's amazing it has survived your winter there and the fronds still remain so lush. If you are planting it, are you going to plant it close to your house? I think it'll offer it a little better protection.

I'm in the 9b zone and after each Winter, my coconut tree looks so beat up. I planted mine in the ground a few years back along the fence on the south end of my yard. I should have planted it close to the house .... I'm thinking of sourcing out a really dwarf one and plant it close to the house. I have seen reports of some very dwarf ones that will fruit at a height of 5-6 feet. I don't know what variety that is and where to find one yet.

I've wondered for years why nobody in the states has tried those super dwarf coco's. Indoor- outdoor or outdoors and much more easy to warm in winter for zonepushers.

Maybe they are extra tender? Ma Nature seems to work that way.

Yes, I've been wondering about the same thing too. I've looked at some video links on some dwarf coconut trees and wish I know where to buy them.

This one in the video is said to be of the Malayan dwarf variety. It's a little puzzling to me because I thought they grow to 20-30 ft.

This amazing Yellow Malayan dwarf was grown in central Florida for 15 years. Unfortunately it had died since.
