Sun, Sun, Sun!! I am still waiting for sun and warmer temps. Seems like our warm weather is shrinking with each passing year.

Hooray!!! I am so happy for you! I can't wait for temps to warm for me so that I can see improvements on mine..I ordered mine from there too couple or more years back! Nice looking tree.)

It's great to get kids excited about gardening! I routinely quiz my kids on the different fruit trees on the garden and they love it.

Brettay, I do the same! It's so important for kids to know that their food does not come from a store ;-). Here's the potted Oro Blanco (left) and Santa Teresa lemon (right)! Great looking trees! Can't wait for them to adjust and start growing. I have them in dappled shade for now...one or two weeks? Then out with the others.

Here are the two calamondins I separated last week...they seem very happy! Vladimir, how are your separated twins doing? And did you get your tree yesterday?

Thanks Jinny! Yes, I have about 8 large barrels like that along my brick patio all with lettuce, kale, spinach, chard and herbs. I will pull out the lettuce and spinach soon and I already have tomatoes in there ready to take over. I have my citrus between the planters. I don't have great light in other parts of my yard, plus I like to have the containers right outside my kitchen door for easy access :-)

And yes, I do love my tree babies!!!

The flavor of Oroblanco is very mild, sweet, a little lacking in flavor. Trying to describe the flavor, it's like 45% pomelo, 35% grapefruit, and 20% orange. It's supposed to have the least bitterness out of all the grapefruit varieties, but in all fairness the two I just bought at the market were very bitter, so apparently that can be very variable with growing conditions.

Pomelo is wonderful, but unfortunately these huge fruits can't always ripen to full sweetness in our climate. There are some places further inland away from the coast where the summers get scorching hot that grow them. Unlike grapefruit, Pomelos can't handle winter temperatures much colder than climate zone 9b or 10.
