Start with creating a walkway from the carport to front door. it could be pavers or a faux stone design with porch paint. ( Paint tan or cream, tape a "grout line" pattern then sponge darker grey color for stones.) Edge that with some rocks or bricks.

Put some sort of fence or lattice across from the front door area to the property line. This wall ( gate if needed for access to backyard) should decorated as an entryway with large visible house numbers , lamp post and maybe a bench and planters. Easy to build with old pallets. some solar lights lining the walk would also guide guest toward the new entry zone. paint the front door a bright color to pop out and the kitchen side door the same as the siding to blend in. maybe a silly sign on kitchen door like "servants entrance."

You could add some ground lighting.

Maybe my not so to scale sketch explains. Solar up lights could hide in planters and at night illuminate house numbers. A low fence could screen trash can and display numbers closer to curb.

I've thought about making the path clearer (I want to use square concrete pavers with small stones or grass in between and add lighting), but a person will still need to pass by the kitchen door to get to the front door, so unless I move the kitchen door (maybe to the window behind the car), a clearer path doesn't get me 100% of the way there.

Alternatively, I could embrace the kitchen door as the front door and create a hallway along the right edge of the interior of the house to get people by the kitchen and back to the living room . . .

By the way, the stones and crazy bushes in front are being replaced with succulents :)

Also, from the comments, I can tell that I did not describe the front door area well--below is a picture (we are replacing the fencing). You can see that the door is set back from the side of the house.

Paint any doors other than the entrance door to match the house so they don't tempt one to enter. You could also add a big welcome sign on the new fence to draw the guest that way. Since you only have a single digit house number, that might not be effective enough, but it certainly shouldn't be near any doors you don't want guests using. Here is a vintage sign you could replicate! If you don't want your name exposed, just put "Our Home and Please Enter." Of course, this is for sale here on Houzz if you think something kitchy would do it.

What is the object to the right front of the car on the ground? I would say make a walkway that leads to the door along this path, but that looks like a large obstacle.

You are either looking at the white downspout attached to the metal pole supporting the carport, or the first step (this is just in front of the kitchen door) along the side path to the "front" door, or a paint tray.

4 things.. #1 at the downspout/carport to your front door make a pergola/trellis. This will act as an exterior hallway or path to your front door. It will also camouflage the unattractive downspout. # 2. at the new faux entry put a door or screen door. People will recognize it as an entry point better that way. #3. Add potted plants, exterior light, mat etc around the new "door" to make it more inviting. #4 create a path to the new "door" with decorative pavers, stamped concrete, paint...anything, make it look different than the driveway. Best!

A pergola something like this picture below, only white, and with a side. Add climbing plants so you don't have to look at your neighbors wall. Then put a door or screen door at the entry. With a mat etc. If you don't put the door on people will think it's going to the back yard.

Your driveway is decided in three parts. Change the left and middle to concrete and the right side leading to the front door to pavers. This way people unconsciously follow the path to the correct door.

SAFETY? I would not want strangers having an excuse to be on the side of my house where they're sort of hidden from the street... So, I would put a small gate separating the side from the carport . (Not talking about a huge gate in front of the house but a gate on the side) AND I WOULD HAVE A DOORBELL ON THE GATE. You could make the gate real charming. You could have a little sign painted hanging on the gate saying to "ring the bell." You could even have a curved arch over the gate, wreath on it. You could make it very charming. And if it were me, I would not mind the small hassle in walking outside to the gate to talk to strangers. You could even have an intercom installed on the gate. They are more affordable now than you would think.

Well, I just learned that in the British Isles, the mermaid was a symbol for a prostitute, so you may want to rethink that sign I posted. I thought it was cute, but didn't get the hidden message. Most people won't know it either, so you might not ever have to explain it. However, some Brit might come knocking for service! lol!
