New to sarracenia

I purchased 2 pitcher plants from a vendor this weekend after hearing about a friend who has had hers in a pot, thriving, for 10 years. My friend said she uses a potting mix of peat moss and perlite. When I mentioned this to the vendor, he said no perlite, use soil and fertilize. So, that's what I did. Now I'm reading that they do not want fertilizer. Do I need to repot?

Thanks in advance, and any other advice is welcome!
