What a great house . . . because of the mansard (which I do think you want to remove if you are reworking things) . . to get the permit, you'll need a licensed architect. It needs a more contemporary entry door and sidelight rather than a pair of leaded glass doors . . You might wrap the chimney form in raw steel. There might be a new parapet . . . . To The form over the front door is nearly art deco with the curve . . and the stair railing to the front door .. with the outline in iron, it would be fairly inexpensive to use black powder coated rebar to do something like this . .
