Old iris

Hi I am new here. I found out yesterday that my Mother's iris are still alive. My brother said I could have them. I am in Alabama zone 7B. They have already bloomed this year. My question is can I transplant them now? These flowers have been there since I was a child and I am in my 50's, so they have been there a long time.

Should be a good time to move them. I've heard lots of different advice about when to divide iris, I've divided any time after blooming & up to November & had no problem, although I got less bloom the following spring from those I moved in November.

The sooner the better. Trim the leaves so they don't flop after replanting.
