I don't like most of the African marigolds pretty much across the board....too disease prone in my hot, humid climate.

Haven't grown them for a few years, but they were fine here in zone 5 for me. Not as fragrant of foliage, but loved the color! This year I'm trying marigold alumia vanilla cream - it's one of the short 10-12" french ones. Not as white as the one you're talking about.

Matthias - just for future info: my alumia vanilla creams are starting to bloom, and they are definitely NOT white. A pale lemon yellow, rather. Not quite what I expected, but still beautiful.

I had not heard of those, samhain. Looked them up. They look more delicate than French Vanilla. I could see trying them sometime. My garden needs more very light color.

I've grown them and some others, Snowball I think? They aren't white, but a pale yellow, very pretty. They always did well for me, as well as the yellow type.
