What is the name of the red and purple plants?
What type of soil condition do the like? Is it ok to place them in the wet area?

    Red are Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinals), purple are Nodding Onion (Allium cernuum). All native to Michigan and much of the Midwest.

    What soil those plays tolerate/like?
    I am thinking planting around sump pump discharge area, can they tolerate periods of wet?

    Cardinal Flower is a wetland plant and requires moist soils. Nodding Onion is an upland plant, but can handle moist soils as well.
