My grown son recently moved into my one bedroom apartment, which is a small 600 sq feet space. He sleeps on a inflatable mattress in a corner of the main living area.

I'm looking for a solution that provides him a semi private bed area and looks good too. And something that would provide him some storage. Would using bookcases to create a partial wall work? Folding screens seem too flimsy. A loft bed is out because there is ductwork that lowers the ceiling height where the loft bed would go.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
