For this project, we used a quartz countertop in Lyra purchased from Home Depot. The total cost for labor and materials was ~$3,000 (Home Depot helped coordinate the install with a local company). This was by far our biggest investment in the space but well worth it. With such a tight budget, we paired the more expensive material with simple white IKEA cabinets (if I had to do it over again I would definitely purchase pre-made cabinets) and brass knobs from knobs.com priced from ~$5 - $7. A few notes about quartz as a countertop materials (compared to granite/ stone/ concrete/ etc.) : Quartz (also called Silestone) is a composite countertop composed of natural materials. It is antimicrobial, durable, extremely low-maintenance and is usually backed by a 10-15 year warranty.
