My office workers were just talking about using Sevin dust on fleas in the yard and on their dogs. I quit using Sevin when I went organic years ago. I think it will turn out to be a menace like DDT was back before Rachel Carson.

The organic solution is called beneficial nematodes. They go down onto a soaking wet soil. They need moisture to move around and find their prey. These nematodes bring an insect disease to the fleas which kills them within 24 hours. Then the nematodes hatch out millions more babies to move on and find more prey. It doesn't take long before there's no prey left.

My dog got a flea infestation from the fleas in my back yard. I couldn't walk on the back lawn without getting fleas on my socks. I got a 10 lb bag of Sevin Granules, spread them out and watered them in as directed. A month later I did the same thing. I haven't seen a flea or tick in my back yard for the past two years after I did this. It worked for me. Use Sevin Granules, not "dust."
