Master Bedroom Finishing Help!

Am looking to put the finishing touches on our newly remodeled master bedroom and bath. I'm interested in an upholstered king headboard (what height with 8' ceilings?), side tables (have 40" on each side of the bed), new lamps, and a barn door for the new closet. We purchased a barn door that was too modern for a more traditional space and unhappy with the look and now am needing something between traditional and contemporary. The overall space in the room is 14' by 12'. Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions you can toss my way.

I don't think you need to be too modest with the height of your headboard -- especially as you like your pillows piled high. I think the height below would work just fine. Try marking it off with tape and see how it looks to you, then measure.

Thank you, Rina! I found a 56" high headboard that I think will look nice...it's upholstered with wood trim. I will give the tape a try before ordering!

It would be great if you could post a picture of the headboard if you decide to buy it -- it will help Houzzers to give useful advice about side tables etc.
