This can result when newly emerging leaves are subjected to below freezing temperatures. These particular leaves will always look odd, but the rest should be normal if low temperatures were the cause. Distorted leaves can also indicate excessive fertilizer in the planting mix. This, too, should not effect new leaves once the plat is out of the pot and in the ground.
