Help we are looking to purchase this beautiful home that has all we want except an open concept kitchen/ dining area. The current sqft of the kitchen is only 220 with the home being about 3300. We could take down walls between the kitchen[hall]and dining room. I would love to move the kitchen further into the formal living room and leave a study/ school room behind the kitchen space. Any help or wisdoms would be greatly appreciated!! What would you do? Is it bad to walk into a home and see the kitchen? Can we do a double island parallel the outter wall cabinets?

The green would be new lower cabinets, double island, and along the right wall place the oven and cabinets. The red lines are walls we would possibly take down. The back right corner would become our school study nook with access to the deck and yard.
