There is a good chance many of the retailers are buying from the same supplier. That's what it seemed like to me so I just went with the cheapest one I could find. My replica is amazing quality, looks beautiful but I can tell that it's not the same :(. The real chair in the natural finish is soapy, matte, and is so unique that it couldn't be replicated.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've been coveting some Wishbone chairs for my dining room, but with the price at $1,000 each, it's a huge investment to purchase 6-8. But I don't want to buy a replica that I'm disappointed with.

I have a Baxton Designs one and I think it is very slightly lower and definitely less comfortable than the ten real ones at my parents' house. But it's a pretty good looking chair, and if I had no real ones to compare I'd love it.

Did you ever purchase a replica? We are currently building a house and fully furnishing it so I don’t think I can afford the real deal. Although I sure wish I could! Currently looking at some from “inmod”

Same here! cougirl02 - Ikea did have some pretty good reproductions for the $$ a year or two back, but I'm guessing there were problems as I haven't seen them for months.

cougirl02 - I see a whole lot of options are available on Wayfair, too; anything upwards of $250 each, which is more than Ikea but not tooo much $$.

I have purchased the khalil version from wayfair, they are lightweight and comfortable but I don't have the real version for comparison. I believe these are the same as poly and bark as on one site, the p&b model number was em109, em being Edge mod and this was the sticker on my khalil box. I have since found baxton on amazon on sale. They are described as ivory and weightier than khalil so I don't think they will match what I have already. Perhaps I should chance it and hope they are close....they could be the one supplier.

Update, both sets have arrived and are different! Which set should I keep? I'm not sure which are closer to the real thing? The one on the left is taller and has more of a height difference between the tallest point and the arms.

Interesting subtle little differences, thanks for sharing! I'd go for the one that seemed to have the best, most consistent finish, best wood, best seating, most comfortable. Are they noticeably different to sit on, clcrawford86 ?

Do you have any Amish furniture dealers in your area? If so, take a picture/specs of what you want with you and see what they can do. You can also check out the site, Simply Amish. I have had several chairs and pieces of furniture made by Amish carpenters—extraordinary craftsmanship, I was able to pick type of hardwood and finish and pricing came in below Pottery Barn/Ethan Allen range. You will have chairs that your grandchildren can enjoy and wouldn’t you rather give your money to an Amish craftsman than some corporation using south Asian junk wood?
