    Hi there, it's Bergenia cordifolia, a fab perennial with large architectural leaves that will grow in awkward and shady spots. Not that you have to put it somewhere like that. Its strength of form means you can use it as a way of "punctuating" more delicate plantings. Or, even use it as a full stop on the corner of a border.
