Hi, so I don't want to share any pictures, but was hoping for a little commiseration from those that have undertaken massive construction projects. After a lifetime of planning and 5 years or saving, my husband and I are putting in a pool. Th gunite is poured, the stone is on, the decks are set to pour soon, and right now I hate almost everything about it. :( it's too small, too shallow and too formal with a too-awkward layout and its about to have a practical, but unattractive deck topping. For so many years I've had a precise and clear idea of what I wanted, but a tree, elevation issues, a not-great designer, and some miscommunication have resulted in something that could have been so lovely turning into such a tremendous disappointment.

has anyone ever experienced this sense of upset? Of feeling like you screwed up and threw money away with bad choices? More importantly, anyone who felt that way during construction but felt better when you got to the "pillows and plants" decorating stage?
