This weather...

I moved all of my hoyas outside the weekend before last. Last weekend, due to this awful weather, they are all back inside. Summer needs to hurry up, already! Watering is so easy (and a lot less messy, lol) when they go out.

I have a table ready to relocate outdoors for house plants, was going to do it this weekend but the weather sucks. Really hoping none of my plants get hijacked, I plan on growing some containers of tomatoes and stuff in front to camoflauge them. I am probably being overly paranoid, but people can be weird sometimes.

    Wish I had a fence.

I feel your fear. My backyard is full sun exposure (South facing), so I have to harden my hoyas off in the front yard. And my work hours are not set (on call), so I always fear someone liking what they see. Helps that I have a Great Dane who will bark like mad if a plastic bag rustles two blocks away! This same dog would probably allow a burglar to rob us blind, once they get into the home, though! LOL!

I do have two dogs in the house to bark like mad at intruders in the yard, assuming they are not asleep for the night or out adventuring with me. My neigoborhood isn't the worst or anything, but being so near downtown and right by the river we get a lot of foot traffic in the summer. I think the spot I have picked will be ok, sheltered sun, sheltered by the house, and right by my bedroom window for maximum late night ballistic canine action.

Not that that helps keep the deer out of the veggie garden outside that window any, hahaha.

I was afraid to put potted plants out front too. Slowly I started with my succulents and now have several hoyas out front and no problems. I live on a corner lot that is a school bus stop and kids around dropping trash etc. I guess the hoyas don't look too appealing. I think they would go after fern (dam for it's name-the one with the creeping fuzzy "legs") But of course there is the possibility that some plants have been lifted and I am too lame to notice. ;-)

I have most of my Hoyas outside already. It's only become dangerously chilly for two nights that they've been out there, but they're close to the house (pretty much right up next to the wall) and are covered. Some of you may remember the little wooden porch you have seen in pictures over the years. That is where they still go for the spring and summer. Last night, it got down to 35, so I hope they are okay.
