Trying to decide which modular manufacturer in Texas...Please help!!

My husband and I have never purchased a manufactured home before but are doing our research now. The housing prices where we live are ridiculous (for Texas) and we can get more house for the money if we purchase a pre-fab. Would anyone recommend a dealer and/or manufacturer brand? We love Pratt homes but they are a little out of our price range. Anything comparable? Any dealer you have enjoyed working with? Thank you!!

First may I suggest you read as many threads here as you possibly can.

Get to know the differences between manufactured and modular housing and the pros and cons of each.

You will learn it's not so much the manufacturer as it's the dealer who can make or break your happiness in your new home.

With manufactured or modular you can get everything from HUD basic manufactured (which nobody really gets) up to million dollar modulars.

Just by studying this forum alone I believe you can become an informed consumer and know what to ask when you decide to take the plunge.

What Christopher said. I know he's right because I did it. Last October, when I agreed to buy the manufactured home I bought in January, I read this forum. Every last thread and response. I thought I knew a lot about MH's, but I was wrong. NOW I am a knowledgeable consumer! Good luck to you! :-)
