Could you carefully take a close up of the leaves of three growing among the Parthenocissus quinquefolia -Virginia creeper. It looks like Poison ivy.

Peren.all nailed it. You have a mix of Virginia creeper (5 leaves) and poison ivy (3 leaves.) Neither is a good idea in a small garden, though I enjoy the Va creeper growing up a tree or in the woods. Pull the poison ivy wearing plastic gloves. Then put a plastic bag over your gloved hand, grab the PI and pull. Invert the plastic bag over the PI, close it up and throw it out. The dead vines retain some of the urushiol (oil that causes the rash) so you don't want it around.

Ha ha I hadn't noticed the poison ivy! The vine (I think it's a vine - the stem is as substantial as wisteria) that I am asking about is the one with rows of small round leaves. Any idea what it is? Thanks.

p.s. I cant't tell if there is a terminal leaf.

Yes I think it is locust! We have many locust trees and they do sprout like mad. Wasn't expecting it there or now. I am impressed Babs!
