All my peas are in containers so I'm not sure what's going on compared to in-ground. The snow peas have grown the tallest but are just now starting to flower for me. Maybe snow peas are more sensitive to excess nitrogen?

Same seeds, same growing condition, just ground and container. The garden soil is old farm clay type. And the container media is the left-over potting mix from other nursery plants, about a couple of years old. No fertilizer is used with both.

Even the two volunteer pea plants in my flower bed are sending flowers. I think the squirrel brought them there. Not sure.

My plants in pots fruit at different times than in the ground.

For tall growth but no flowers, the most likely is cause is excess nitrogen in the soil. Legumes are particularly sensitive to this. Soil temperature may also have some influence, as containers will warm more rapidly than the ground.

I think they are spaced about 3" apart, not too dense. No flowers at all.

Any flowers yet?

Mine flowered a few days after this post and have been going crazy ever since. Of course now they're getting sunburned so it's time to plant some in a shadier location for the summer.
