It seems like every year I read here that someone's iris has changed color, I see an old thread has been resurrected. This year, after at least 10 years Halfway to Heaven reappeared in the middle of a clump of Celebration Song. I moved Celebration song here about 4 years ago, I don't know how Halfway to Heaven snuck in there, I don't remember it being close by it. But there it is. Halfway to Heaven bloomed once when I first got it & I thought it died. Seems to be a nice healthy rhizome right now. Doen't seem possible it could have hung around that long & not bloomed. Same thing happened with Maria Tormena a couple of years ago. I moved a clump of Gypsy Romance, it bloomed a year or 2 in its new location & suddenly there are 2 stalks of Maria Tormena. I thought it had rotted 7 or 8 years previously soon after I got it. Makes for some puzzling, but nice surprises. Not the first time it has happened to me, I often move things around & tags get shifted, but these 2 were the longest lost I've ever had. Mother Nature is full of surprises.
