How to make lily bulbs yucky for "predators"?

I am planning on putting in a new lily bed & thought I'd reach out to all you lily folk out there for your collective advice!

Every year, I lose a certain number of oriental lily bulbs, which ends up being pretty costly to replace.

Does anyone have any ideas about possibly "treating" the lily bulbs before planting, with the idea that such treatment would make the bulbs yucky-tasting to any animals who would want to eat them?

Ideas anyone?
