Great pictures, your Old Faithful has less blooms than the last year?

A few blooms of Old Faithful were lost to a heavy rain or malformed. It never has more than about 10 blooms. Not like the lactiflora types.

The few blooms of OF are just as spectacular as the comments that I have heard or read of OF. But do you like it as a plant? How does it compare to other reds? I really like Angel Cheeks and Myra Macrae. I sure hope my MM will bloom true to name. THere is a bud on it this year from the root I planted last fall. I am so happy to see your Doreen. My tag got blown by the wind. Your pic of it is very helpful.

Old Faithful is a very healthy plant and increases steadily. The stems are fairly stiff, especially for a double. Blooms hold quite well under sun. Not quite so many blooms this year, but Old Faithful never takes the year off, as some peonies seem to do.

Bartzella is beautiful. This was the 2nd year for my Bartzella to bloom, & it really bloomed well. Friends raved over it. Love Angel Cheeks, but there is something about every one I like. Moonstone is spectacular. Well, I'll stop, as I said I like every single one.

Doreen is very showy. I have two bushes at the hospital garden that were admired this evening by visitors. Always nice to have visitors (who don't dig up the plants or cut flowers).

Maestro is a very deep red that holds fairly well, but has weak stems.
