You might considered engineered wood, which won't warp and is very durable and is real wood. I have tried to talk myself into laminate wood several times- for price and reistance to water/dampness - but it just doesnt look or feel as good. Bamboo dents, be sure and pick a hard wood, you can find wood ratings of hardness online.
