Well watered plants should be fine for at least 4 days, in the shade .

In the basement, I will leave the lights on, as much as possible.

I agree with Sey. Don't leave them in a dark basement.

Perhaps you could put them in a shady place and stand them in bowls which you would fill with water just before you leave?

Why in the world would you want to leave them in the dark? That's not going to do them any good. Linda's idea is sensible. It will thoroughly saturate the pots, but for a long weekend, leaving them in puddles of water probably won't hurt. In general, you'd like the surface to dry out a bit before watering.

Regular ceiling mounted lights in a basement won't help at all. That's essentially leaving them in the dark. Even the shade outdoors is vastly brighter than that.
