Still deciding on cabinets, Y9 Construction. KraftMaid? Cliq Studios? Merillat? Medallion? Having such a tough time with that choice. There are so many ratings, good and bad, for each manufacturer. Any suggestions?

does the upper wall of your plan end at the margin of the bay window? if so, what is planned for that corner, or is the entire wall open to the FR? is something going there?

otherwise, seems a decent plan. not clear what the critics were focused on.

ACM, The cabinets run close to the bay window and the wall then extends into the FR. The area where the new island will be located consumes on area where we currently have a kitchen table. That also is open into the FR.

I like your plan. Will you have an overhang on the island for stools? Just make sure where your stools will go (with pullout space) & any of the island surface does not interfere with any openings of the doors of the appliances.

You should leave an area of at least 36" to 42" for walking between counters & appliances, etc. Will you be using the bay window for a small breakfast table? Be sure to allow enough room there for that with chairs. It can be a difficult job to design a kitchen, but think of all the details through completely before proceeding & you will reap the rewards of good working kitchen.
