I'm thinking about planting a lemon in an existing in ground pot and shaping it into a ball. The pot is 880mm in diameter, with a depth of 280mm. I can cut the bottom of the pot out for the roots to grow through as I'm concerned it may become root bound. Looking at keeping the tree less than 2 metres tall. Can anyone recommend a lemon species that would be best for this application.
