I like the ideas of adding the larger columns. Add some landscaping too. I would add whit accents to your gray siding when you put it up. I.e. White vertical corners.

Test the color combo first to see if you like it. I'd beef up the corner trim to give it more presence, especially if you want its color to contrast with the siding.
Also, the door needs to be stronger. It looks a little narrow for a front entrance. Check its measurements to see if it is a standard front door width and replace it with a new door; one with windows would be nice.
I don't find the brick objectionable unless it's in bad shape, or you are going for a more contemporary sort of Cape Cod style. Dollars you save on keeping the brick path can get applied to a landscape design which will go a long way toward giving your home more curb appeal.

a decorative round false vent in the peak of the porch roof could be cute. consider having your walk way flare out in an arch to be the same width as the porch.

Use a brighter color for the door.

Thanks for the comments. We were planning on the white corners for the trim to brighten it up. The brick on the walk is in bad shape that is why we were doing concrete. We also were thinking columns with stone covered pillars as supports. The color scheme would be all neutral. In the picture our front door was open so it looks dark. It is actually white with 3 small square windows at a diagonal. The layout in the house does not allow a wider door to be installed. Ideas for landscaping is much appreciated.

Here is an inspiration photo of your proposed colour scheme. I think it would look very nice. It would look charming if you could replace the vertical siding in the front gable to shingles. Also wider trim around door will make it appear wider.

Square columns look better. I would advise you to use stone with concrete pavers for creating a new driveway.
