Yes, If they're getting some sun, they are more likely to dehydrate before they root. This time of year, it's hard not to be successful rooting, but I always put mine far back from any window so they don't get anything but bright indirect light until they are well rooted. When you see actual growth, then that means they're probably rooted and you can move them into a sunnier spot.

Hoyas can be slow growers. If you're going to grow them, you need to exercise a bit of patience pls. rooting Hoyas sometimes takes a while.

I noticed! Haha. They are finally rooting though. I can see a root at the side of the pot of the thomsonii already. And the serpens seems to be firm in the pot now too. Yay!

Just another question:The carnosa is a bigger plant. It has a couple of long vines and two peduncles are starting to grow (I think). Now my grandmother really wants a cutting of this hoya. But I don't know when the right time would be to take a cutting. Is it wise to do so when it is starting to grow peduncles? Or should I wait until after the blooming?

Even if you say it has 2 long vines; especially if you're new to the plant (you may not know where or how to cut & it matters).

I'd wait 'til after blooming personally. Ask Nana to pls. wait a while, maybe 'til end of Summer.
