Growing Tomatoes

Brownstreaks and hole on tomatoes

Hey Guys,
This is my first time growing tomatoes - this first early tomato has brown streaks and a hole as seen in the linked pictures. Can anyone enlighten me on what this is and If I can do anything to avoid it? Can I still eat this when it ripens?

You have a bit of zippering and cracking going on, often caused by extremes in temperatures or watering.

Most likely the tomato will still be edible after carving out little wedges where the cracks and zippering is.
