Dilemma - Home arrangement has all guest entering through the back door into the kitchen and next to the laundry closet. Where the pantry was next to the back door there was a 36" wide hall and with the refrigerator it went down to 33". Not very gracious.

Solution on a very tight budget - Move refrigerator to opposite wall ( put narrow 9"wide cabinets next to the laundry closet wall so the refrigerator door will have full swing) - Design new pantry to look more like a different piece of furniture to define the entry (made with vanity base cabinets and 12" uppers) - Stain base kitchen cabinets for ease of upkeep - Paint upper cabinets to open the space - new quartz counters ( cut to 25 1/2 in. to give 1 extra inch in path) - new deep sink and heavier faucet - new marble back splash - place counter over washer and dryer and add shelves
