I agree, I didn't know if it would be strange to have 2 different color doors.

As long as the side door is painted a color aready used on the house exterior, it will not seem strange for the side door to be one of those colors. Both could be black, but if you want to have fun with the main door, and to let people know for sure which door is the main door, paint it a different color!

I just had all 4 exterior doors of my house painted with Behr Marquee Fire Cracker red and I love it! So many pros did not like that I had all of my doors painted the same color, along with the garage door, but I wanted that red to give visual interest to both the house and detached garage. Red would look awesome with gray, black, and white!

I like the idea of two different color doors. But I think it odd to ask us. We are just going to tell you what our favorite colors are. What are yours? Do you like subtlety or flair? Is black your style or would you love orange?

Think of this - where do you live? What kind of light do you get? In what direction does the front of the house face? How much sun does it get? Are the doors masked by trees, etc from the street? Do you have a colorful garden out front? Do you often put things on your front door like wreaths?

Personally, I like the idea of a muted color for the side door and a very colorful front door. But not red. Too prescriptive, everyone's got one. Been there, done that. Think outside the box. (No offense to anyone!)

I'm liking the idea of 2 different colors too. I asked because its nice to read other ideas, I find it inspiring. I brought home some color cards and I'm thinking for the front door some sort of deep blue, not navy though. The side door I'm debating maybe to just keep white. Its under a farmers porch roof and can feel dark to me at times. I've seen a few houses with a bright yellow door, that always grabs my attention....

Oooh, deep blue sounds gorgeous. Yellow sounds so cheerful! I've been seeing more and more yellow, orange, even lime green these days and I love it. I live in a townhouse (all the same color of greenish grey), but we all have different color doors. One has magenta, one has bright aqua, one has orange! I'm going for a deep but vivid blue.
