Also, you might find a few current seed offers for SASE by individuals with extra seeds. I'm not sure if Val is mailing at the moment, but you can do a search for a current offer to the: "Newbie Seed Project" (with current month). She collects seed donations from us and distributes them to Newbies for postage.

Most posters here are based in the US and are unlikely to be sending stuff to Cardiff. Many shrubs grow very easily from cuttings if you can find someone with a few bushes e.g. Forsythia, Philadelphus, Weigela, many roses etc. For seeds and plants Morrisons are cheap. I have several £1 Clematis, Fuchsias etc. I have friend who regularly finds great stuff in the skip behind Homebase. Yesterday she came away with a whole load of herbs in pots which needed nothing more than a good drink. Farmers markets sometimes have plant stalls as do local fetes and school fairs.
