What to do in the foyer?

Just bought this house and am trying to figure out what to do with the foyer. My guess is a table and maybe a chair on the back wall in front of the stairs, but I have no idea if that's the right move or not. The space is about 12 ft wide by 10 ft deep and open up to the second floor. Thoughts?

This is a perfect area for a hall table in the center I love that look with a great light above some art on the wall and maybe a small bench for removing and putting on shoes

Agree a center table with a nice area rug would be perfect here for the middle of the Foyer. Also a nice console table along the wall where the stairs are, with a lamp and picture frames would also look nice and work well in the space.

Per Patricia's suggestion, but if you don't want table in the middle of the room, just add a large rug and lots of art + some furniture on side or back wall.

I agree with Patricia. The rug with the table would look perfect. Not only will fill up the space but also create a good harmony.

You have 6 walls that you have to think about in this foyer. The wall that you mentioned, the 2 walls above the openings to the living and dining rooms(can deal with these later), the wall in front of you as you go up the stairs, the wall on the side as you go up the stairs - and the wall across from this one.

So, you're going to need chairs/benches, tables, plants and artwork to make it cozy and inviting.
