Overwintering Seedlings

Hi all,

I have a couple of Monterey Cypress seeds that were planted in January and germinated in April. They're doing really well but my question is about what to do come winter. What's the best way to protect potted seedlings in winter? Can they even survive temperatures in the 20s and teens? I'm in Brooklyn, NY and don't have a garden or shed so my plants stay on my fire escape. I've successfully overwintered a zelkova, cypress and maple but first time growing seedlings. Any advice would be truly appreciated as i've grown quite attached to them :D
